WHO WE ARE
We at The Art Design Project are passionate about promoting the intersection of art and design by representing the works of emerging and established artists and photographers. We create online exhibitions, as well as pop-up exhibitions around the world and other alternative engagements. These unique experiences give our clientele the opportunity to acquire pieces directly from our selection of art and photography, or through our various partners and sales platforms such as 1stdbs, Artsy, Artsper, and Artland.
We create special projects to raise awareness around the work of artists that we represent, as well as artists without representation with whom we work. We partner with luxury brands and private institutions to bring them a new breed of potential clients and offering one-of-a-kind art experiences to new audiences. To complement each exhibition, we organize cultural activities, such as conversations with artists, curators, and private visits to artists' studios.
Founded by Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque, a photography and contemporary art collector, gallery owner and art advisor for over 20 years. Under his curatorial direction, our online art gallery has selected and is working with a vast and diverse group of artist from all around the world, thus being able to represent different art media such as photographs, paintings, prints, and sculptures.
He was an early pioneer of photography in Miami with his Design District Art and Design Gallery a-d. There, he showed the works of seminal photographers Horst P. Horst, Peter Beard, Helmut Newton, Nobuyoshi Araki, Albert Watson, Sarah Moon, and his critically acclaimed "Monumental Nudes" show, among others. Mr. Arcila-Duque also curated the first retrospectives of Horst P. Horst in America at the Forbes Museum in New York City, Miami, Barcelona and Istanbul. Since the advent of Art Basel Miami Beach, he served as a co-chairman of the Junior Host Committee.
