The Making Sense explores the incognito within quotidian existence through computer-generated paintings in an almost caricature-style approach. Angelica Tcherassi reinvents ordinary people, objects and appearances into complex geometric colorful abstractions—oranges, yellows, blues, greens, pinks, teals, corals—creating figures that transform familiar elements into intricate visual complexity. Works titled "I Got Your Back" suggest support and protection while exploring how solidarity requires understanding hidden depths beneath everyday facades; "The Mask" questions facades worn during daily existence; "Blender" integrates disparate aspects of self into unified yet multifaceted whole, embodying continuous process of blending varied everyday experiences into coherent complex identity.
Tcherassi's work combines organic elements, geometry and bold use of color. As a believer in energy, spirituality and human consciousness, she uses art as a way of life and a way to connect with the universe. Her process explores how variations of color in a single piece generate diverse perceptions and emotions. Inspired by artists such as Mondrian, Matisse, Rothko and especially Josef Albers, she experiments with abstract forms to provoke thoughts and emotions, using color to challenge and deepen our sense of perception. The Making Sense series embodies playful curiosity about how familiar people and objects become strange and new when viewed through lens that reveals their hidden intricacy, their potential for continuous reinvention within everyday existence.
