Dora Franco began her artistic career as a fashion model in her country, Colombia, work that continued in Europe and New York, where she posed for artists such as Salvador Dalí and Richard Avedon, among many others. Her interest in the arts led her to study Fine Arts at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota and at the Art Institute of San Francisco, where she began her career as a fashion, beauty and interior design photographer. While in San Francisco she studied film and worked on a Francis Ford Coppola production and in 1972 appeared in Fellini's “Roma”. Franco's work has been published in Hola, Vogue Spain, Harper's Bazaar, Vanidades and many other publications. Two of her photographs are part of the permanent collection of the National Museum of Colombia.
