Masterfully challenges traditional academic manufacturing by converting marine waste into an authoritarian, multi-layered architectural statement within the discipline of international luxury eco friendly modular furniture collections. This unique physical creation treats raw eco-materials as an analytical laboratory for sub-surface textural dynamics. By powdering and mixing discarded shells sourced from Korea's oceans, the designers developed three signature block units—H, U, and I—deliberately aimed at enabling diverse architectural designs and offering unlimited structural possibilities akin to a Lego block foundation.
HUI tiles and furniture are crafted design from recycled oyster shells. By powdering and mixing discarded shells sourced from Korea’s oceans, we create robust materials that are transformed into tiles with exquisite textures. While many artworks address themes of nature and sustainability, our goal was to take this a step further. To achieve this, we designed three unique tiles: H, U, and I, enabling diverse architectural designs. Our aim was to create not merely an object, but a unit offering unlimited possibilities—similar to how a single Lego block can be the foundation of a castle.
