A modular sofa system that merges Korean design sensibilities with Japanese craftsmanship. The textile, inspired by Eastern ink wash painting and Western pointillism, is woven on a rare Gobelin loom by artisans preserving this traditional technique. Production is carried out in collaboration with a Kyoto-based workshop with a long standing history, creating a seamless dialogue between heritage and design.
The system consists of three modular units that can be arranged freely to suit various spatial contexts. Whether placed centrally, along a wall, or in a corner, each configuration integrates naturally into its surroundings. Each module functions independently, allowing for flexible adaptation and expansion according to individual needs.A contemporary proposal rooted in tradition and crafted for versatile living.
Pebble sofa merges Korean design sensibilities with Japanese craftsmanship. The fabric, woven on a rare Gobelin loom in France and further refined through collaborative development in Japan, features a high warp density that enables detailed imagery and a delicate three-dimensional texture. Expressed through six cotton warp threads and a 100% wool weft, the textile combines visual richness with functional durability. Drawing inspiration from Eastern ink wash painting and Western pointillism, the fabric embodies depth and refinement. Produced in collaboration with a Kyoto-based artisanal factory known for its dedication to preserving traditional weaving techniques, the textile represents a bridge between past and present.
