The Return to Source explores personal labyrinths and the journey back to authentic self through computer-generated abstract paintings. Angelica Tcherassi creates organic maze-like forms in bold colors—reds, blues, teals, corals—drawn without conscious purpose, allowing unconscious creation to reveal interior landscape. The series features two perspectives: "Maze Me" works present horizontal navigation through personal labyrinth's complex terrain, while "Look Up" pieces offer upward view from maze's base, gazing through organic forms toward the self waiting above. These abstract compositions feel simultaneously anonymous and deeply personal, suggesting that returning to source requires traversing one's own intricate interior complexity.
Tcherassi's work combines organic elements, geometry and bold use of color. As a believer in energy, spirituality and human consciousness, she uses art as a way of life and a way to connect with the universe. Her process explores how variations of color in a single piece generate diverse perceptions and emotions. Inspired by artists such as Mondrian, Matisse, Rothko and especially Josef Albers, she experiments with abstract forms to provoke thoughts and emotions, using color to challenge and deepen our sense of perception. The Return to Source series embodies the concept of drawing lines and forms without conscious purpose, feeling reflected in abstract shapes that give form to mind's interior, trusting that navigating personal labyrinth leads back to authentic source of self.
The artist's computer-generated abstract photography merge craftsmanship and technology, creating an eclectic and unique style. Through her art, she aims to illuminate the world.
