This compelling primary color abstract painting stands as a definitive visual by contemporary artist Alejandra Quintanilla. Relying on high-contrast studio shading, direct material layering, and an intensive vertical totem layout to map out a timeless artistic narrative, the artwork masterfully tracks a complex rhythm of primary values and spatial gravity. Sourced from manually applied oil pigments placed directly on archival sheets, the vertical orientation anchors a powerful flat perspective that turns traditional color block concepts into an elegant topographic scenery of pure visual balance and quiet luxury.
This series is born from a search to leave aside the narrative figurative and reduce the image to shape and colour. Starts with both images found as well as her own images, previous pieces, from her palette, from drawings, in a self-referential way.
