Formulated as a sequential two-panel multi-piece installation printed on museum-grade Hahnemühle Photo Rag 300g paper the artwork masterfully relies on complex digital post-production to map out an emotional narrative of transitional states and human impermanence. The visual layout flows dynamically across two staged conceptual environments framing a sharp feminine profile pressing her fingers against a blurred dividing glass pane surrounded by floating specs against a split crimson and dark blue background in the first square mirrored by a deeply curled introspective figure clad in red sitting directly over rich emerald-green moss clusters in an ancient forest backdrop.

  • Originally from Austria, Michaela Haider found her expression in photography at an early age. Drawing inspiration for her early works from the fields and forests, streams and rivers of the region she grew up in. After studying chemistry in Graz, Helsinki and Berlin, the scientific perspective provided even deeper insights into the unifying element of her work — the relationship between the human form and nature, and the materialistic aspect of both.

Her images depict staged worlds that pose and explore the question of this relationship from the human perspective.

Haider's works have been exhibited in Austria, Germany, Spain, and Finland.
