The Art Design Project is an american art gallery based in Miami, Florida that promotes the convergence of art and design, representing the work of more than sixty emerging and established artists from more than twenty countries around the world.

The gallery curates physical and online art exhibitions under strict curatorial guidelines, encompassing painting, photography, works on paper, sculptures and functional objects. The gallery has been at the forefront of the online curated art business for the past five years, offering a tight curatorial selection of artworks for collectors and art institutions.Our physical space in Miami, Florida is by appointment only.

OUR FOUNDER

The Art Design gallery was founded in the late 90's by Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque, an interior designer, art collector, gallerist, and curator, the gallery works with a vast and diverse group of artists from all around the world in several mediums such as photography, painting, fine art prints, functional art and sculptures.

Arcila-Duque's interest in art and design began in New York City in the late 90s, when he curated the "Form and Function" exhibition sponsored by Britain’s Craft Council.

After relocating to Miami in 2000, Arcila-Duque pioneered in Miami’s Design District with his A-D Gallery. He presented works by leading artists such as Horst P. Horst, Peter Beard, Helmut Newton, Nobuyoshi Araki, Albert Watson, and Sara Moon, in dozens of exhibitions, including the critically acclaimed "Monumental Nudes” in 2002. 

Arcila-Duque collaborated on curating exhibitions with the Horst P. Horst  estate at the FORBES Museum in New York, the LEICA Museum Gallery in Istanbul, H&G Barcelona, SCAD FASH | Museum of Fashion + Cinema in Atlanta. He has also curated special temporary exhibitions curated in Miami at The Soho Beach House, Armani CASA, LUxury Living Group, and Poltrona Frau. Since the creation of Art Basel Miami Beach in 2002, he has co-chaired the Junior Host Committee.
