Founded in 2000 by Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque, an interior designer, art collector, gallerist, and curator, The Art Design Project art gallery works with a vast and diverse group of artists from all around the world in various media: photographs, paintings, prints, and sculptures.

Arcila-Duque's interest in art and design began in New York City in the late 90s, when he curated the "Form and Function" exhibition sponsored by Britain’s Craft Council. After relocating to Miami in 2000, Arcila-Duque became a pioneer in Miami’s Design District with his A-D Gallery. He presented works by leading artists such as Horst P. Horst, Peter Beard, Helmut Newton, Nobuyoshi Araki, Albert Watson, and Sara Moon, in dozens of exhibitions, including the critically acclaimed "Monumental Nudes” in 2002.

Arcila-Duque also curated the first museum retrospectives of Horst P. Horst in cooperation with Horst P. Horst Estate in the USA at the Forbes Museum in New York, in Turkey at the Leica Museum Gallery in Istanbul, and in Barcelona and Miami.

Arcila-Duque has presented temporary exhibitions at the Soho Beach House in Miami Beach, and at Armani Casa, Fendi Casa, and Poltrona Frau in the Miami Design District.

Since the inception of Art Basel Miami Beach in 2002, he has co-chaired the Junior Host Committee.
