This mesmerizing abstract oil diptych painting serves as a monumental artistic statement within the highly celebrated series Tactile Memory by creative partnership Natasha Zupan. Formulated as a two-panel multi-piece installation, this unique mixed media masterwork beautifully unites historical painterly tradition with contemporary structural innovation. The composition relies on heavy, sculptural palette-knife strokes of vibrant turquoise, deep olive green, and earthy ochres that build an intensely rich material topography over a smooth ground embedded with classic textile lace patterns.
Natasha Zupan beautifully unites the old and new, combining the innovation of her highly crafted technique with her wonder for tradition and the great Masters. This body of work explores the manipulation of surface texture, light, and the interweaving of time. It is not about translating a world that already exists, but about an entrance into a different universe. A timeless, tactile world of sensation and overlapping memory.
