Geometría Fractal 1, 2022, transforms the pictorial surface into a field of repeating forms and structures that seem to expand continuously. The grayscale composition creates an almost topographical perception, where lines, blocks and angular patterns produce constant shifts in depth and movement. The forms overlap without establishing a single focal point, inviting the viewer to move visually across the surface and discover new relationships between its elements. As an abstract painting, the work turns geometry into a perceptual experience, evoking an imagined space in which order, repetition and variation construct an autonomous visual reality.
The theory of Heaven is a novelty that Plato introduced to philosophy. Inspired by this concept, the artist proposes a series of works where I imagine and recreate possible worlds only existing in ideas and materialized through art as an ideal means to fable and materialize dissimilar visions of a Platonic space.

Bonachea studied at the Escuela Profesional de Artes Oscar Fernandez Morera, in Trinidad, Sancti Spíritus and the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. He was part of the DUPP and Enema collectives, as well as Tania Bruguera’s Cátedra Arte de Conducta, in Havana. He has had several solo exhibitions in Cuba and Mexico, and he has participated in the Mercosul and Liverpool Biennials. From performance to drawing, his curiosity for revisiting the remote past has made him enter dialogues of historical vision and present condition of reality, giving as a result discursive forms that complement a universe of anachronic new meanings.
