Part of Alejandra Quintanilla’s critically acclaimed Formas on Canvas series, this unique physical creation treats a premium canvas over wood substrate as an analytical laboratory for spatial dynamics, letting thick oil layers, fluid acrylic mediums, and strict proportions converge to map the physical tracking of time. The symmetrical arrangement tracks an intense graphic rhythm where intersecting black organic wings and sharp diamond-shaped red and orange planes split the frame, transforming the interaction between representative constraints and absolute artistic freedom into an undeniable architectural gravity that echoes the history of abstract art.

The process of creating a painting leaves behind a series of elements that become the starting point for a new piece. A mark, a line, color and shape become elements of a new painting as well as subject matter. Making the viewer aware of both time and process in painting. t’s a series that is self-referential while at the same time keeping in mind the history of abstract art.
