Originally titled Untitled 70, Calvin Klein, this image captures the interior mechanics of an editorial fashion shoot: a model centered within the frame while two figures, seen in close foreground, observe and assess. Through B&W Calvin Klein backstage photography, Sükan reframes the scene as a meditation on authorship and control — who looks, who directs, who becomes image. The compressed composition heightens psychological tension, transforming a commercial production into a study of gaze and hierarchy. Stripped of color and distraction, the monochrome palette aligns with Calvin Klein’s minimalist visual language while elevating the moment into collectible editorial fashion photography that reveals the unseen architecture behind the finished campaign.
Sükan created the series as he was working for international magazines such as L'Uomo Vogue (Italy), A Magazine (France), Crash (France), Faces (Switzerland), and Muse Magazine (Italy) between 2004-2008. He captures the tension and the individuality that remain present at backstages before the models enter the catwalk where they lose their individuality becoming actors of consumerism or objects of art. Sükan momentarily steals these figures - who are preparing for other roles to create his own dialogue and mise-en-scène right before they appear on the actual stage.
