This definitive fine art portfolio brings together eight masterly compositions created between 2000 and 2014 as part of Michael James O'Brien's acclaimed Still Life series. Grounded in Jean Baudrillard’s belief that objects evoke subjecthood through their irreducible absence, this suite presents a theatrical assembly of symbolic elements, ranging from classic memento mori skulls and mythical figures to ceramic vessels, delicate botanicals, and sculptural forms. Printed on museum-grade Hahnemühle fine art photo rag paper at 22 x 17 inches per print, the collection showcases O'Brien's dramatic chiaroscuro lighting and poetic narrative depth, representing a centerpiece portfolio acquisition for institutional archives and distinguished fine photography collections.

“So the object brings the subject to life not in its relative presence, but in its irreducible absence.” - Jean Baudrillard, Integral Reality.

This masterful still life photographs captures the essence of the form and texture of everyday objects, evoking a sense of timelessness and modernity
