The artwork tracks a profound process-driven narrative where the residue of painting leaves behind elements that become the starting point for a new piece. Shifting dynamically between marks, lines, colors, and shapes, the graphic composition turns the physical medium into the subject matter itself, making the viewer aware of both time and studio process within a self-referential framework that honors the historical lineage of abstract art. The horizontal layout anchors a powerful perspective structured around a dense geometric environment, balancing large interlocking segments of dark burgundy, warm mustard ocher, olive green, denim blue, and vibrant terracotta color blocks that rise effortlessly across the massive canvas plane.
The process of creating a painting leaves behind a series of elements that become the starting point for a new piece. A mark, a line, color and shape become elements of a new painting as well as subject matter. Making the viewer aware of both time and process in painting. t’s a series that is self-referential while at the same time keeping in mind the history of abstract art.
