This compelling contemporary figurative print showcases the brilliant graphic intuition and conceptual focus of contemporary artist Casey Waterman within his celebrated Why This Restlessness? collection. Executed with premium inks as a signed limited edition archival inkjet print, the unique masterpiece explores the psychological tension between what is present and what is omitted through clean imagery deconstruction. The visual layout structures a bold, minimalist flat color landscape framing a stylized female tennis player with a red visor and yellow top against a horizontal backdrop divided into a light blue sky and a teal court surface. This rich graphic environment records everyday experiences and written text inspirations, turning an athletic silhouette cutout into an elegant landscape of pure geometric contours and structural fields.

By removing parts of the image in this figurative print, he explores the tension between what is present and what is omitted, focusing on the reasons behind these choices and their implications. The cutouts are then reintroduced as prints, paintings, sculptures, and large-scale murals. His curiosity and inspiration stem mainly from written works and everyday experiences, rather than from other visual artists. After conceptualizing an idea, he collects images, some of which are not cut until years later, to help investigate choices and provoke new questions. For Casey, the process and the work are interconnected, with each facet being significant and worthy of attention.
