Etem's grid format references digital browsing: multiple images viewed simultaneously like museum feed or map interface, each painting functioning as window into virtual-real meeting place. The works feature greens, pinks, oranges against soft backgrounds creating ambiguity between natural forms and digital aesthetics—are these bodily organs, biological specimens, or pixel-based shapes? This uncertainty materializes fluid condition Etem explores: daily experience increasingly occurring through screens where atoms and bits coexist. Set of 6 demonstrates how appropriating content from net resignifies narratives—digital browsing experiences (scrolling feeds, viewing collections) becoming source material for traditional painting medium, creating visual questions about contemporary existence mediated by screen time where virtual and real worlds meet in painted still lifes.

In this project, exploring the fluid condition between the virtual and real world, the artist seek to materialize my experiences in digital environments - whether browsing through Google Maps or in the feed of an art museum - generating images as a meeting place between the world of atoms and that of bits*

Digital cartography materializing screen experiences—six paintings as meeting place between atoms and bits. Set of 6 from Medium screen time by Rodrigo Etem. Available at The Art Design Project, Miami Beach.
