An extension of the modular logic behind HUI tiles.
Each stool is assembled from individual tiles in varying colors and textures, resulting in quietly unique compositions. Made from recycled oyster shells, the tiles are durable enough for both indoor and outdoor use. Like architectural elements coming together, the pieces form something larger.HUI tiles and furniture are crafted from recycled oyster shells. By powdering and mixing discarded shells sourced from Korea’s oceans, we create robust materials that are transformed into tiles with exquisite textures. While many artworks address themes of nature and sustainability, our goal was to take this a step further. To achieve this, we
designed three unique tiles: H, U, and I, enabling diverse architectural designs. Our aim was to create not merely an object, but a unit offering unlimited possibilities—similar to how a single Lego block can be the foundation of a castle.
