The artwork builds an immersive pictorial interpretation based on an academic research project by famous chef Juan Carlos Franco focusing on historical culinary recipes. Shifting dynamically across eras, the photographer recreated these low-key food displays inspired directly by classical master paintings from art history, finding heavy formal references in the work of Leonardo da Vinci, Albrecht Dürer, and others. The horizontal layout anchors a powerful perspective structured around a deep chiaroscuro studio setup, balancing two independent vibrant orange mandarins keeping their organic fresh green leaves and small branches intact One fruit rests over a small dark wooden case positioned directly above the spine layout of a large antique historical book featuring the sharp engraved, all rising from the pitch-black background under a sharp.
