CARLOS ALEJANDRO HERNANDEZ
In his work, Carlos Alejandro uses a vast array of non-conventional materials such as: pills, hair, bottle caps, chop sticks, etc. He takes common objects out of their context and using different techniques, he transforms them into art pieces, resulting in an interesting eclectic fusion that shows a strong influence of the Dada movement in his work.
In his subject matter, one notices a great concern for the social aspect of the human being which to Alejandro, groups the universality of his environment, demonstrating a personal point of view that can put things in perspective, extending possible answers to common life issues such as
human rights, spirituality, consumerism, recycling, etc.In addition to his gallery showings, he has participated in cultural exchanges, workshops and talks. He has also has done interior design for commercial spaces in Miami and Portland,OR.
Carlos Alejandro is currently based out of Miami, Florida.
