Arcila-Duque Gallery in collaboration with Books & Books are pleased to announce the exhibition:
HARRY BENSON
January19, 2001
The exhibition "Harry Benson: Photographs The Beatles" was curated by Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque from the Miami Design District's a-d gallery, in collaboration with the Books & Books bookstore in Miami Beach, between April 6 and June 6, 2002. This showcase compiled the acclaimed work of Scottish photojournalist Harry Benson, who exclusively captured the British band's rise during their first tour of the United States in 1964. Among the displayed images, the iconic meeting in Miami with boxer Muhammad Ali (then Cassius Clay) stands out, where he pretends to knock out the Liverpool quartet. This photograph embodies the explosion of Beatlemania and has become a pop culture landmark, widely featured in the press and compiled in prestigious photobooks published by TASCHEN.
