Sol Mallorca and Moonrise I creates celestial maritime diptych pairing sun and moon's relationship with ocean—one panel capturing solar light, the other lunar reflection, both over vast black or illuminated waters where sky-sea boundaries dissolve. Winograd's documentary lens frames nature's essence through elemental cosmic encounters: the diptych format suggests that understanding maritime phenomena requires witnessing both celestial bodies' interactions with oceanic surface. This monumental pairing generates contemplative emotions about diurnal and nocturnal sublime, offering reverential meditation on how different celestial lights transform sea's appearance while maintaining its fundamental mysterious vastness impossible to ignore.

Miguel Winograd's work explores the relationship between people and their environment, narratives of social conflict, and the dense interconnections of the Colombian landscape. His work, which occasionally includes portraits of trees, captures the essence of nature through a documentary lens.
