The artwork highlights Huang's mastery in adapting camera-less darkroom historical processes into contemporary visual art. Using everyday items to build mysterious and impressive images, the graphic canvas acts as a personal mirror reflecting the photographer's internal understanding of being an immigrant living in the United States. The vertical layout anchors a powerful perspective structured around a dramatic low-key studio setup. Shifting between ideas of biological rebirth and architectural balance, the layout isolates a single negative shadow image of an upturned human hand reaching towards a floating oval matrix, allowing its transparent and semi-transparent structural fields to emit glowing white visual textures over a solid black background field.
Shine Huang uses everyday objects to create mysterious and impressive abstract images. Huang focuses on adapting historical photographic processes into contemporary art. Many of his images are also a mirror that reflects the photographer's understanding of being an immigrant living in the United States.
