This historically significant masterpiece sets an elite conceptual standard. Conceived as a self-taken photograph for her landmark 2012 solo exhibition at Art Space Location One in New York, the horizontal composition documents a grueling, long-durational breathing system where Arjona’s unadorned body acts as the crucial chemical intersection keeping an entire organism working. The raw close-up frames her nude upper profile pressed tightly against a network of transparent plastic inflatables, magnifying the intricate internal rhythm of lungs, bodily fluids, and muscle strain involved in a mechanized gesture of a kiss.

The Kiss was a self-taken photograph and was part of her solo exhibition in New York at the Art Space Location One, in 2012. The Kiss maps a system uniting two bodies. It is a gesture magnified by the use of sound emerging from the action of kissing and intensified by the working presence of the performer’s body. “The Kiss” (is a long durational performance), Portrait photography, a breathing system where the performer’s body becomes the intersection enabling the entire organism to work, reveals the intricate rhythm between lungs, fluids, and muscles while kissing.
