Etem's abstract geometry explores how form traverses rather than dominates space: colorful curved lines and planes appearing as records of movements where background field participates equally with foreground gestures. This work materializes fluid condition between intention and reception: just as virtual and real worlds meet in Etem's practice, marks and background meet as equal participants creating composition through mutual interaction. Derivas II questions daily experience through strained relationships—each gesture recording navigation through contemporary spaces where traditional hierarchies (foreground/background, form/support, intention/reception) dissolve into collaborative fields, where surfaces actively shape marks rather than merely containing them, abstracting experiences of territories diluted by new technologies where fixed positions give way to continuous relational drifting.
