Developed by internationally acclaimed artist María José Arjona in 2017, the five-piece horizontal arrangement strips away classical single-frame documentation to build a fluid visual score where contemporary dance and live body performance intersect. The sequential frames isolate the physical body as it dissolves and mixes with dense drapery, raw matter, and rough texturized furs to germinate bodies in full transition. Wrapped in a dramatic, heavy chiaroscuro that completely eliminates architectural distractions, this unique multi-piece work explores horizontal relationships between humans and non-humans.

María José Arjona, Santa Fe de Bogotá, Colombia, 1973, lives and works in Miami. She received her master's degree in visual arts from the Academia Superior de Arte in Bogota. She has also been an artist-in-residence at Robert Wilson's Watermill Center in New York. Her most recent performance exhibitions have been at the South Florida Art Center in Miami, the Miami Light Project, the Ballroom Marfa in Texas and the Damien-B Contemporary Art Center in Miami. She has also exhibited video performances at the Galleri Se in Bergen (Norway) and at the Museo de Barrio in New York.
